The 24-year-old Moses Manganye arrested in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old girl on 10 February 2021 at Thabanaswana village in Sekgosese policing area outside Giyani in the Mopani District, has appeared before the Tiyani Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 19 February 2021.
He was denied bail and the case was postponed to 24 February 2021 for formal bail application and for further police investigations.
The arrest of the suspect comes after neighbours reportedly discovered the body of the deceased in the nearby bushes with her hands tied.
The police were immediately summoned to the scene and upon arrival, they commenced with initial investigations and a manhunt for the suspect.
The suspect, who stays in the area, was immediately arrested at his home.
The police investigations are still underway.
