Stock thieves flee, 9 goats found in boot, Gilead

The South African Police Service in Gilead outside Mahwelereng have in the early hours of 15 November 2019, at about 02:00, recovered nine goats suspected to be stolen around Hlogo ya Nku and Seirapiies villages.

The Police were patrolling when they spotted a suspicious white Nissan Sentra motor vehicle and immediately gave chase. During the process, two suspects alighted from the vehicle and fled into the nearby bushes. Upon further investigations nine goats were found stashed inside the boot.

The Police are on the lookout for the suspects and anyone with information that can lead to their arrest should contact the Crime Stop number at 0860010111 or the nearest police station.

The owners of these recovered goats are unknown at this stage. The goats were impounded at the Mokopane SPCA. Members of the community who have missing livestock are advised to go to Mokopane for identification and should be in possession of proper documentation.
