Two suspects who were arrested in connection with robberies perpetrated at Thohoyandou Malls in Vhembe District will be appearing before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 June 2023, facing charges of robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition among other charges.
The suspects were arrested at Shayandima Zone 10 and Thohoyandou Block G, on Friday, 16 June 2023, during a joint operation conducted by Vhembe Trio Task Team.
Investigations linked the suspects to a Thohoyandou case, Shayandima case, Post office Phangami case and Capitec Venda plaza case that were opened earlier this month at Vhembe District, for cross pavement robberies.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the Police for working tirelessly in tracing and arresting the perpetrators.
More arrest of the remaining suspects are expected.
Police investigations are continuing.
