The conversation that the minister of police had with Agri SA about farm murders was not even over, and another farmer was killed.
A doctor from Ellisras, Dr. Werner Emslie was shot dead on his farm outside the town, while his wife, Dr. Mariëtte Emslie and their daughter Barbara were seriously injured.
Apparently, four suspects attacked them, two of whom were armed. They escaped with the family vehicle, but the vehicle was later abandoned, not far from the farm. Nobody has been arrested yet.
The incident occurred just after the Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, had a meeting with Agri SA where he undertook to do more to ensure the safety of farmers and farm workers.
