In a concerted effort to fight incidents of property and trio crimes in this Province, the ongoing operations which were conducted by the Dedicated Joint Clusters and Stations Task Teams comprising various Police Units, have yielded meaningful and positive results.

In the Dorset Policing area outside Lephalale, five suspects aged between 20 and 45 were arrested this morning, 20 February 2018, in connection with the farm attack which occurred on 19 February 2018.

In the Ritavi Policing area outside Tzaneen, the Tzaneen Cluster Tracing Team have conducted a sting operation at Dan village following a spate of burglary incidents in and around the area which led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 24 and 30 years, for possession of suspected stolen properties.

In Levubu outside Thohoyandou, three suspects, aged between 22 and 32, were arrested on a series of offences ranging from burglary residential, house robberies, business robberies, murder, kidnappings, and rapes to attempted murders.

These suspects were also positively linked to nine cases of house robberies, rapes and robbery with firearm as they were terrorizing members of the community in the Thohoyandou area especially in the Maungani and Muledane villages

The arrested suspects will soon appear before the Lephalale, Nkowankowa, Levubu and Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Courts respectively.

The SAPS Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed this milestone achievements with high esteem and he also commended these Teams of members from Tzaneen, Thohoyandou and Lephalale Clusters ,on the job-well done.
