The second farm attack in as many days occurred on Friday evening 19 June 2020, at around 19:00 on a smallholding next to the N1 at Kareebosch outside Polokwane. A 68 year old woman and her husband were attacked, assaulted, tied up and robbed by four black male attackers. One attacker had a firearm and the other one a knife. The woman was threatened with a knife and tied up with cables.
The attackers plundered the house and left with a plasma TV, gas bottle and stove. The woman managed to untie herself after the attackers left and informed the Community Police Forum who came to help.
No arrests have been made. Police are investigating.
On Thursday evening 18 June 2020, there was another farm attack in the Polokwane area. A group of black male attackers struck at farm worker residents on another local farm, robbing workers of cellphones and cash.
The attackers also fired into a room of a house belonging to a worker, wounding two young children.
One child was shot in the elbow and arm and the other child was shot in the leg. No arrest was made in that incident as well.
