A 39 year old accused was lashed with a long jail term by the Polokwane High Court after he was found guilty of rape and two incidents of attempted rapes that occurred during the years 2015 and 2017 respectively.
The accused who resides at Ga-Phakula village outside Senwabarwana in the Seshego Policing Precinct which is about 200 kilometers away from the crime scenes, was sentenced to an effective twenty two years imprisonment for rape plus additional five years imprisonment for attempted rapes, respectively.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has welcomed the heavy jail term. The General has also commended the Investigation team which handled the case from the Lephalale Cluster Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences(FCS) Unit.

The incarceration of this hooligan will bring a relief to members of the community and the vulnerable groups throughout the Province especially the affected families of the two victims because the accused will no longer be associated with the entire society indefinitely, concluded General Ledwaba.
