The Polokwane Police have initiated an intensive manhunt for a male suspect linked to the murder of a 36-year-old man in the Polokwane Central Business District (CBD). The incident occurred along Church Street on Wednesday, 06 August 2025, at midday.
Authorities were alerted to the crime scene in front of a local supermarket, where they discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound. Emergency medical services were promptly summoned, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victim and the suspect were involved in a heated argument over a trolley before the altercation turned violent. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a sharp object on his upper body, causing him to collapse on the tar road.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear as police investigations continue.
