The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the members of Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit for their consistent exceptional work and vigilance following another successful drug bust in Polokwane on Tuesday 25 July 2023.

The 35-year-old foreign national male suspect was arrested at Bendor Park during ongoing disruptive operation.

The suspect was driving a Hyundai i10 motor vehicle which was stopped along Hillary Street and searched.

Police found 3 sachets of Crystal meth and 16 sachets of Kat drugs with the estimated street value of R5000-00.

The suspect’s vehicle was also confiscated as part of investigation.

“Drugs are ruining the lives of innocent people and for us to protect our residents and the youth‚ we must get the drug dealers arrested and duly charged. That is where our focus is‚ we must get rid of the drugs in the city and we cannot win the fight without assistance of the community,” concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 26 July 2023 facing charges of possession and dealing in illicit drugs.
