Police open case against farmer after farm attack
Woman attacked on farm and kidnapped

Around 02:30 on Thursday, April 13, two suspects wearing balaclavas broke a window to gain entry into a farmhouse situated in the Letsetele area, Tzaneen.

The suspects wielding knives threatened Kobus Nel (52) and his wife, demanding money and tied them up with rope. The couple was not harmed during the incident.

The suspects fled with a hunting rifle, mobile phones, DVD player and a TV.

Nel managed to alert the police and farming community who responded to the incident.

During the investigation, a case of negligent possession of firearms will be brought against Nel because it is believed that the gun kept is in contravention of the Firearms Control Act.

The police will investigate a case of housebreaking and theft against the two suspects.
