Police nab three heavily armed suspects, Burgersfort Cluster

The Intelligence Led Joint operation which was conducted in the Burgersfort Cluster have made a major breakthrough for arresting three most wanted suspects aged between 29 and 34, on 28 June 2019.

This operation composed of the Burgersfort Crime Intelligence Unit, the Organized Crime Detectives, Tubatse, Mecklenburg and Sekhukhune Detectives focusing on the hijackings committed around the Burgersfort Cluster.

These Police Units followed information about these suspects and were stopped along the road, pulled off and stopped.

The Preliminary Police investigations linked these suspects with cases of carjacking in the Tubatse Policing area and murder committed in the Ohrigstad policing area.

The origin and destination of the recovered items will still be determined by the ongoing police investigations.

The trio will soon appear before the Burgersfort Magistrate’s Court on charges of hijackings, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen properties.
