The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi, has ordered a full-scale manhunt following the brutal murder of a 69-year-old man at his home on Friday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 19:30 on Friday, 03 October 2025, in the Ga-Kgole village, within the Ga-Mamabolo area under the Mankweng policing jurisdiction.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was inside his homestead when two unidentified males entered the house and opened fire. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to both his lower and upper body.
In a desperate bid for survival, the fatally wounded man managed to make his way outside after the shooting to call for help. Neighbours responded to his calls and promptly contacted his family. The family then arranged for his transportation to a local hospital. Tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival.
Police have since recovered spent cartridges at the scene for forensic analysis. The motive for the attack is currently unknown, and no items have been reported stolen from the house.
The investigation continues as police, under the directive of Lieutenant General Thembi, utilize all available resources to track down the suspects.
