Morebeng, Capricorn District – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Morebeng has initiated a search operation for unknown suspects involved in a stock theft incident at Avo Ower farm on Wednesday, 13 May 2025.

According to police reports, the incident unfolded at approximately 11:00 when two unidentified males arrived at the farm of a 57-year-old male victim. The suspects claimed to be from the Seshego policing area and stated they were searching for their missing donkeys. The victim informed them that he had not seen the animals, after which the suspects departed.

At the time of the encounter, the victim’s donkeys were grazing in a field adjacent to the road. Later, at around 16:00, some of his donkeys returned to the farm, but three, valued at R48,000 were missing. The victim conducted a search but was unable to locate the animals.

The matter was subsequently reported to the police, who have launched a manhunt for the suspects and a search operation to recover the stolen livestock.
