Police impersonators arrested in Limpopo

Five suspects from Tembisa were arrested in the Sekhukhune area, Limpopo late Wednesday evening allegedly on their way to commit house robbery.

The crime intelligence driven operation were conducted by members of the Provincial Tracking team.

During the arrest a police uniform, reflector jackets, blue light and siren as well as an unlicensed fire arm and ammunition were confiscated.

The origin of the police equipment as well as the firearm is being investigated.

The suspects are due to appear in the Sekhukhune Magistrates’ Court on Friday on charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and impersonating a police officer.
