A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday evening, 28 October 2025, for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition following a joint intelligence-driven operation in the Musina policing area.
The operation was conducted by a team comprising members of Musina Visible Policing (Crime Prevention) and Musina Detectives. Commencing at approximately 19:00, the operation was initiated based on specific intelligence regarding a suspect allegedly in possession of an illegal firearm.
Acting on this information, the team proceeded to a rental room at Musina Phase 08. During a search of the premises, they discovered one black 9mm pistol with its serial number removed, one magazine, and five rounds of ammunition. The firearm had been concealed inside the room.
The 25-year-old female suspect was immediately placed under arrest and has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
She is expected to make her initial appearance before the Musina Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
Police have confirmed that their investigations into the matter are continuing.
