Police have arrested five suspects in connection with a brutal mob justice incident that resulted in the murder of an unidentified man in Polokwane City earlier this week.
The attack occurred on the night of Tuesday, 09 September 2025. The victim, who remains unknown, was killed by a group of people in an act of vigilante violence.
Following an extensive investigation, Polokwane detectives acted on positive information received from community members. This led to the apprehension of the five suspects, aged between 30 and 40, at various locations within the city in the early hours of Thursday, 11 September 2025, at approximately 02:00.
The five suspects are scheduled to make their first appearance before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 September 2025, where they will face a charge of murder.
Police have confirmed that their investigations into the matter are continuing.
