A 43 year old Administration Clerk from the SAPS Giyani Cluster under Human Resource Development is expected to appear at the local Magistrates’ Court on Monday 4 march 2019, following his arrest by the ’ Serious Corruption Unit for alleged corruption.
The suspect who is responsible for recruitment at the Cluster, allegedly demanded a R10 000 bribe from a job applicant in order to process the application.
The Hawks were immediately alerted and the suspect was detained on Saturday afternoon 2 March 2019, following an undercover operation.
The Provincial Head of the Hawks in the Province, Major General Thobeka Jozi has welcomed the arrest and vowed the Hawks will not hesitate to deal with public servants irrespective of their stature in government as well as in the private sector.
