Four trucks and several other vehicles were set on fire in Phalaborwa. The violence apparently has also been extended to surrounding villages.
Police claim to keep a watchful eye in the areas, but as in most cases, they could not adequately protect other citizens’ property and prevent the vehicles from being burned.
Apparently, the protest is against two senior executives of the Phalaborwa Mining company that are blamed for nepotism. The protesters demand their dismissal.
