Police were alerted about a business burglary in progress at the premises and rushed to the scene.

On arrival police found a Security Control Guard handcuffed while seated on the chair inside the office.

Upon further observation it was discovered that various items were scattered inside the office.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the female Security Guard was accosted by a group of unknown male suspects who were speaking Sepedi and Zulu.

The suspects took her cellphone and she was ordered to take them to the PEP retail store in which she cooperated with.

Afterwards, she was taken back to the room while being guarded by other armed males.

Subsequently, the suspects managed to steal an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones from the store before fleeing the scene on foot.

According to Police report, the suspects gained entry by cutting the fence at the back of the plaza. Afterwards, they broke the burglar door at the passage to gain access to the Security Control room where their criminal acts continued.

It is further reported that two other Security employees, who were patrolling outside, were also found tied up and robbed off their cellphones at gunpoint.
