National Traffic Police have arrested a drunk driver for bribery on Easter Friday

In a step that should send a stern warning to deviant motorist, members of the National Traffic Police have arrested a drunk driver for bribery on Easter Friday.

The driver was stopped on N1 in Mokopane in Limpopo. When it was discovered that he was drunk, he offered officers three hundred rands (R300) for them to ignore the offence.

The officers immediately placed him under arrest and took him to Mokopane police station where he was charged with bribery and drunk driving.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation commends the officers for showing that they are not for sale and road safety is not negotiable.

Traffic officers will undertake heightened drunk driving operations today as history that this kind of conduct increases on weekends.
