The police in Namakgale are investigating the brutal murder of a 26 year-old male at Kanana section, Makhushane village, on Saturday, 20 January 2024 at 06:30.
Police received a complaint about a male who was found lying unconscious in the middle of a gravel road and rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim with open wounds on the forehead, chest, and shoulder.
The members of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned at the scene and declared him dead on their arrival.
According to police report, the deceased was at a local Tavern when he reportedly left to go home with three friends at about 01:30.
They walked together until they separated to their respective homes.
It appears, the victim was attacked with a sharp object behind a small mountain while on his way home.
The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage, and a manhunt of the unknown suspects is currently underway.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Major General Jan Scheepers has condemned the attack and described it brutal and senseless, calling upon community to come forward and provide information that may assist the Police to the arrest of suspects.
