Hpg together with Modimolle SAPS Cluster trio task team, Modimolle Cig and NIU launched an operation on the N1 highway with regards to armed robberies where victims commuting with vehicles bee robbed over a long period between Polokwane and Hammanskraal.
The area has been plagued by as many as 80 plus armed robberies. Five suspects were arrested in possession of three unlicensed handguns, ammunition, robbed vouchers including cash, cell phones, etc. A volkswagen vehicle used by the robbers was also confiscated.
The five suspects were arrested at Kranskop Tollgate.
