Massive manhunt launched after brutal killing in Apel

On 6 July 2017 the Police in Apel outside Lebowakgomo have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects in connection with the brutal killing of a man in the bushes near Apel.

It is alleged that the deceased and his friends were attacked by a group of unknown people in the grazing field and their Hyundai truck which they were travelling in was also found torched.

The Police were summoned by members of the community. Police responded swiftly after a burnt truck was found with no occupants inside. An investigation was launched and subsequently, the body of the deceased was found a distance away from the truck in the bushes and he was identified as a 21 year old man from Lebowakgomo Zone R.

The deceased was found with multiple wounds throughout his body and his friends who are unknown at this stage are nowhere to be found.

The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage however police investigations are continuing.

The suspects are still unknown and there is no arrest.

Members of the community in the area are requested to remain calm and give the Police space to investigate this incident fully and also to refrain from taking the law into their hands but rather to give us a reliable and valuable information which will lead to the positive results of investigations of this incident.
