The Police in Westenburg outside Polokwane are still on massive manhunt for an escapee Afra’ Rikhotso aged 27 who escaped from lawful custody on 25 July 2017 at about 20:00.
It is alleged that this escapee was collected from the Thohoyandou Correctional Services by the Northam Police for his court appearance for additional offences he committed in the area.
The Police who were escorting this suspect, allegedly stopped at the Shell garage along the N1 South outside Polokwane to buy food at a restaurant and during that process, the suspect produced a firearm and pointed it at the Police and disappeared.
The detailed circumstances behind his escape and the firearm he produced are subjects of our investigations.
