Police in Modimolle, Waterberg District, Limpopo, are searching for three suspects following an armed robbery at a construction site in Phomolong Extension 11.

The incident occurred at the ‘Baphalaborwa 72’ Construction Site on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at approximately 21:00.

According to a police report, a security guard on duty was confronted by three unknown men. One suspect pointed a firearm at him. The suspects then forced the guard into a mobile container, tied his hands and feet, and locked him inside. He was discovered and freed by a colleague the following morning.

Two trucks were stolen: a Hino 700 Tipper Truck valued at R1.2 million and a Hino 700 Water Tank Truck valued at R1.8 million.

An investigation is ongoing.
