A manhunt for unknown suspects is underway following the brutal murder of a 45-year-old man in Skimming village on Friday night.

According to the Moletlane police, the incident occurred on September 5, 2025, at approximately 23:45. Police officers were conducting routine patrol duties when they received a complaint about a murder.

Upon arrival at the scene, next to a tuckshop, they discovered the mother and brother of the victim tending to his body. The male victim was lying on the ground with injuries to his upper body. Members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched but certified the man dead upon their arrival.

The deceased was formally identified at the scene by his grieving family as Sunday Hosea Mahlobogoane.

Police spokesperson indicated that the motive for the killing is still unknown at this stage. Investigations are ongoing, and a manhunt for the suspects has been intensified.

Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance.
