Manhunt launched for suspects after the mutilated body of woman found

The Provincial Tracking Team led by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Detectives, Major General Bafana Linda, jointly with the Crime Intelligence Unit launched a massive manhunt for the suspects who killed a middle aged woman in a village outside Thohoyandou.

It is alleged that the mutilated body of a woman in her twenties was found by a passer-by on 10 June 2017 at about 07:30 in the bushes outside Maungani village upon which the police were notified.

The Police reacted swiftly and found the mutilated body of the unknown woman.
The woman was wearing green leggings and it appears her body was dumped in the bushes outside Maungani Village.
The motive behind this incident is suspected to be related to a ritual killing however Police investigations are continuing.

No arrest have been made as yet and anyone who can assist in the identification of the deceased and who can assist in the information about the suspects involved in this matter, is requested to contact Brigadier James Espach at 0825760743 or the nearest Police Station or to contact Thohoyandou Police Station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or SMS detailed information to Crime Line at 32211.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has expressed his shock and disbelieve at this senseless crime, especially considering the brutality in this case.
Members of the community in Thohoyandou and the surrounding areas are requested to remain calm and give the Police space to investigate this matter fully, says General Ledawaba
