The Police in Ritavi outside Tzaneen have launched a manhunt for an unknown suspect who allegedly raped two children aged three at Topanama village on 6 August 2020, at about 15:30.

The two children allegedly went to fetch water from a narrow stream not far from their home and met an unknown man wearing blue work suits. The man allegedly threatened them with a sharp object and raped them.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned this incident and has directed the investigators to hunt this man down and bring him to book.

“As the police continue to fight the scourge of crimes perpetrated against women and children, parents and guardians are urged to be vigilant and always look after their children,” concluded General Ledwaba.

Anyone with information that can assist in arresting the suspect is requested to contact Colonel Cecil Machimani on 082 461 7181 or the nearest police station.
