The South African Police Service members in the province continues ensuring members of the community to enjoy a safer festive season.

This is after operations were conducted in different parts of the province that are still cracking the whip on criminals.

The Police in the Burgersfort Cluster, conducted the joined operation composed of Saps members from Tubatse, Ohrigstad, Leboeng, Sekhukhune and Mecklenburg in partnership with CPF, YCOP and the Tubatse Muncipality which was done in through stop and searches, roadblocks and tracing of wanted suspects.

During the operation, a suspicious motor vehicle was stopped but it sped off and the Police gave chase untill it was found abandoned at Bothashoek village next to the mountain and one suspect aged 30 was arrested and the following items were found inside that car: 1 x Revolver and 06 ammunition, 1x motor vehicle BMW and Explosives.

A number of arrests and activities were further made for the following offenses, Drunken driving, Public Drinking, Shebeen closed, People were searched, 145 x Motor vehicles were searched, 7 x motor vehicles were tested, 10 x Traffic fines issued.
