A 28-year-old suspect arrested for possession of medicine, appeared before Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 July 2023. He still in custody and will appear again on 27 July for bail application.
The suspect was arrested by members of Modimolle Crime Intelligence and Public Order Policing at Modimolle on Thursday, 20 July 2023 at around 20:00 at a fuel station in possession of medicine (pills).
The members activated an operation after receiving information about suspect who was in possession of medicine at Modimolle town, leads were followed and the suspect was spotted in a blue Mazda 323 sedan parked at fuel station.
They tactically approached him, upon searching him, they found in possession of medicine valued at R58500-00.
The suspect was immediately arrested for possession of medicine and related substances.
The motor vehicle was also seized.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest and commends the Police for responding quickly to information received.
The Police investigations are still ongoing.
