The Provincial Organised Crime Unit have made an arrest in connection with dealing and possession of drugs in the Capricorn District. On Tuesday 14 November 2023 at about 08:00, a 33-year-old male was nabbed at Mmotong village under Seshego policing precinct for dealing and possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R6000-00.

Police received information about the suspect who was driving in a red Toyota Avanza motor vehicle to distribute drugs and an intelligence driven operation was immediately conducted in the area. While conducting the operation, police spotted a motor vehicle fitting the same description and tactically approached it.

One male suspect was found inside the red Toyota Avanza and police requested to search it. During the search, police discovered three plastic balls containing heroin drugs concealed under the passenger’s seat. A 33-year-old male resident at Makgofe village was immediately placed under an arrest and the motor vehicle that was used for the commission of the crime also seized by the police.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Seshego Magistrate court soon facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.

Police investigations are continuing.
