The arrested suspect in this matter, Samuel Madou aged 43 has appeared before the Dzanani Magistrate Court on three counts of murder and the cases were postponed to the 17 of September 2018 for mental observation and pending further Police investigations.

This arrest follows the gruesome incident that occurred at Manyi village in the Mphephu Policing area of the Makhado Cluster in the early hours of 28 July 2018, around 02:00 during which a 43 year old man hacked his three children to death while they were asleep in their house.

It is alleged that the suspect accused his wife of infidelity and that he is not the biological father of the three children.

He then started chasing this wife with a sharp object but she managed to escape and ran outside to look for help.

Unfortunately, the suspect went to where the kids were sleeping and killed them.

The motive behind this incident is still a subject to the ongoing Police investigations and domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

The deceased who are all boys were identified as follows : Tshilidzi Madou aged 7 years, Thabo Madou aged 6 years, Olugaho Madou aged 2 years.
