Shocking murder of a farmer aged 89 today on a farm located between Ellisras and Thabazimbi, Limpopo. Jan Lamprecht died at the hands of three ruthless attackers and his wife was seriously assaulted.
Lamprecht is also known as “Oom Poem” was at home with his wife and heard somebody knocking on the front door. He went to open the door and was confronted by three suspects who overpowered him and demanded money. At this stage, it is not clear what weapon the suspects used in the attack. Lamprecht died during the attack and the invaders seriously beat his wife.
The three suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and a gun.
The South African Police and farming community responded and confirmed that no arrests have been made.
A search for the convicts continue and an investigation will carry on.
