The Regional Court in Mankweng outside Polokwane has given long jail terms to two men aged 25 and 34 for separate incidents of criminal activities. Stanley Bethuel Monyepao aged 34 was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape, a further five years imprisonment for attempted murder and twelve months imprisonment for theft.
His sentencing comes after the accused raped a 28 years old woman on 8 August 2017, at about 10:00 at Ga-Dikgale village in the Sebayeng Policing area outside Polokwane. The accused arrived at the victims’ house and requested money from her. When she failed to assist him with money, he threatened her, dragged her to an old dwelling, assaulted her, stabbed her on the face with a knife and raped her.
