The Mokopane Regional Court has sentenced Comfort Kgobe aged 23 to life imprisonment for raping an 8 year old girl. This hefty jail term emanated from an incident that occurred on 22 September 2018, at a village outside Mokopane.
The accused had just arrived at the victim’s aunt and then left with the victim to his house but the aunt and other relatives became suspicious when the two took long to return. They followed them and when they arrived in the accused’s home, they were all met by the sight of a shaken girl who told them that she was raped by her aunt’s friend. The accused had already fled the scene.
The police were immediately notified. The accused was tracked down and arrested just a day after this horrible incident by the FCS Unit.
