The Polokwane High Court convicted and sentenced 26 year old, Nangoma Levy Micheal to a combined fifty eight years imprisonment for murder, rape, Kidnapping and defeating the ends of Justice on 7 June 2023.
The accused kidnapped, raped and murdered a 6-year-old girl who was later found dead in Tubatse Policing area on 3 December 2021.
The matter was reported to the police who conducted intelligence driven investigations that led to the arrest of the 29-year-old Nangoma Michael.
He was charged with murder, rape, kidnapping and defeating the ends of Justice and was ultimately found guilty as charged, convinced and sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment for murder, 25 years for rape, 5 years for kidnapping and 3 years for defeating the ends of Justice.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the sentence and applauded the police for their meticulous İnvestigations that led to the conviction and sentencing of the accused.
