The police in Mashashane outside Polokwane have opened an Inquest docket after the charred remains of unknown person were found inside a burned car at Christina village, Ga-Maraba.

The gruesome discovery was made on Tuesday 6 February 2018, by a passerby.

The police were alerted, reacted swiftly and on arrival, a white Toyota Double Cab 3.0D was found completely burnt. The only occupant in the vehicle was also burnt beyond recognition. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle might have been driven off the road, into the bush and then set alight; with the deceased Inside.

The motive for this latest incident is unknown at this stage but police investigations are continuing.
