Strategies to fight the acts of illegal poaching in this Province, continue to yield meaningful results.
In the Giyani Policing precinct, a special Intelligence led Joint operation with NIU (Rhino8) was conducted on 28 January 2018, and has managed to crack yet another possible illegal poaching syndicate when they effected an arrest at Mbaula village.
During this operation, a 36-year-old suspect was arrested for illegal poaching and the following was recovered. Four x elephant tusks (ivory)
The suspect will appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court today.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
