The SAPS Provincial Organised Crime Unit has nabbed three suspects aged between 42 and 48, in the Apel Policing area outside Burgersfort, for illegal mining.
It is alleged that the Police were conducting operations targeting the illegal miners at Bogalatladi Village and Zoekoegat farm, when they received information that resulted in the arrest of three suspects while others managed to evade arrest.
During the arrest, Police recovered the following items: One Tipper truck, tools, One bucket with Chrome, One Generator, One wheelbarrow and One electric cable.
These suspects will appear before the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court soon.
