House breaking suspect beaten to death by villagers

The Sekhukhune Communication Officer, Sergeant Lesetja Mphahlele has on Thursday, 18 March 2021, visited Sekhukhune FM Community Radio Studio to engage with listeners during a crime talk slot between 16:35 and 17:00.

The visit follows the brutal attack by the villagers who caught one male suspect in connection with house breaking in the morning on Tuesday, 16 March 2021 at Dihlabaneng village. The suspect was rescued by police but later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Sergeant Mphahlele further cautioned the listeners on the following topics:

1. Strengthening of security measures to prevent house breakings including neighbourhood watch.

2. Reporting of gender-based violence, domestic violence and seeking professional help.

3. Community members to assist in locating a 19-year-old man, Malaka Sebolo Willy from Ga-Mogashoa village who reportedly went missing on 25 February 2021.

Sekhukhune police contact numbers of the Community Service Centre and management were also shared with listeners as the campaign concluded.
