The 45 year old woman from Kempton Park in the Gauteng Province who was one of the remaining suspects, was arrested on Wednesday 28 April 2021, bringing the total number of the arrested suspects to five, in connection with the attack and house robbery incident at the house of one of the Municipal Mayors in the Waterberg District of Limpopo province on Sunday, 14 February 2021 at about 20:00.

The suspect will appear before Phalala Magistrate’s court on Thursday 29 April 2021.

Her accomplices, Victoria Mabula aged 33, Portia Kgama aged 34 and Tshiamo Terrence Mabula aged 50, have appeared before the Phalala Magistrate’s Court and they were granted R1000. 00 bail each.

Meanwhile their accomplice Joao Antonio Lucas aged 38 was denied bail by the same magistrate court due to his pending cases in other Provinces including KwaZulu-Natal.

All the five suspects will appear again before the same magistrate court on the 31 May 2021. It is alleged that four unknown armed men accompanied by two women driving with three cars, stopped at the gate of the Mayor’s house and asked the security guard to see the Mayor but before he could respond, they attacked him, entered the house and also tied everybody inside before they ransacked the entire house.

Subsequently, they stole Toyota Legend 45 and fled the scene but the car was later found abandoned along Lebu road in the Tom Burke policing area outside Lephalale.

These suspects disappeared with a white Toyota Fortuner, a navy blue VW Polo and another unidentified car.

During the arrest, one of the cars used by the suspects on the day of the incident, a VW Polo was seized.

The police investigations are still unfolding.
