The Police in the Sekhukhune District outside Polokwane on Monday 14 November 2022 have conducted a joint intelligence operation within Jane Furse policing precinct.

The joint team of members attached to Burgersfort Crime Intelligence, Jane Furse and Nebo Visible Policing intelligently conducted an operation that led to the arrest of one female and two male suspects at Mogoroane village and subsequently recovered a stolen motor vehicle Toyota Avanza and two illegal firearms, two magazine with seven live ammunitions.

Through preliminary investigations the three arrested suspects were found to be linked with a series of crimes included carjacking, armed robberies and business robberies.

The fourth suspect managed to evade arrest during the operation and a manhunt is underway to locate him.

The three suspects are expected to appear before Jane Furse Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of theft of motor vehicle, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunitions.

Police investigations are continuing.
