Thabang Maleka aged 24 and Kabelo Mashilo aged 26, were each sentenced to an effective ten years imprisonment by the Polokwane High Court this week for house robbery.

This sentences follows the incident which occurred on 26 May 2017 at about 22:00, at Manapsane Mshongoville village in the Motetema Policing area outside Groblersdal. During this ordeal, a 48 year old woman was attacked at her home by three armed men.

Members of the Provincial Tracking Team through their intensive investigations, have successfully tracked down these suspects at Motetema location within a short space of time.

During the arrest, these suspects were called to surrender by the Police but they opted to resist and instead, they shot at the Police who retaliated and subsequently three suspects were arrested and two of them were taken to hospital after suffering gunshot wounds.

One of the two suspects had his leg amputated due to the extent of the injuries sustained.
