A 27-year-old suspect linked to house robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of suspected stolen property was arrested on Monday, 25 May 2026, following a joint operation by the Provincial Flying Squad and Bandelierkop SAPS.
While conducting routine duties, members of the Provincial Flying Squad received a request from Bandelierkop SAPS to help intercept a bus traveling south on the N1 highway toward Gauteng. The suspect was believed to be attempting to flee the province.
Police successfully tracked and intercepted the bus, positively identifying the suspect. A search of the individual uncovered suspected stolen copper. The suspect was taken into custody immediately.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, praised the officers for their swift coordination and rapid action. “This arrest demonstrates the commitment of our police officers as they ensure that criminals have no place to hide,” she said.
The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon. Police investigations are ongoing.
