The determination of our members to persistently continue fighting Trio Crimes, led to the apprehension of the fifth suspect on the night of 31 July 2017, who was part of a group of suspects who robbed the local Bar Lounge at ga-Mpusheng over the past weekend.

The suspect (27) was arrested during an Intelligence led operation at Malopeng village in the Apel policing area and was found in possession of a firearm that was stolen during the robbery.

Three suspects have since been nabbed in Soshanguve, Gauteng Province, a day after the incident and the fourth was arrested at ga-Nkoana. The sixth suspect was killed and set alight by community members soon after the crime was committed.

So far, five firearms of different calibers, cash money and stolen vehicles were recovered.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba commended the members for the speed with which this case was cracked. “This prompt action is bound to send a clear message that the police will not in any way be tolerant to any criminal activity,” concluded Lieutenant General Ledwaba.

Three of the arrested suspects will appear in Sekhukhune magistrate court on 3 August 2017 on charges of Business robbery, Possession of stolen motor vehicles and Unlawful Possession of Arms and Ammunition.
