A farm attack took place on 23 November 2018, at 23:00 in the Klein Waterfontein farming area in Groblersdal, Limpopo province. Four suspects with balaclavas, who were possibly armed with knives overpowered a man, who was alone when the attack happened. The man, a farmer had just returned from his late night farming responsibilities, was tied up, and took him inside his house. The house was ransacked, and cash, a firearm and electronic goods were taken.

He only managed to free himself to make the call on the radio to the Groblersdal farm watch at 00:30. After a quick response the surrounding roads were closed off, but the search was called off at 02:30. During the attack the farmers vehicle, a white Isuzu 2017 model with registration number DWL256L, was robbed.

There were no dogs outside his house. The yard is fairly open, not providing sufficient hiding place for thieves. His overall safety awareness is fairly good, although he’s not involved in any local safety structures.
