In a concerted effort to ensure members of the communities are safe and feel safe during this festive season, the police in this province continue to achieve significant gains in the fight against the incidents of crime.

The ongoing Intelligence led joint operations comprising of the Phalaborwa Crime Intelligence Unit and Phalaborwa Trio task Team in partnership with the Farm Watch have cracked a possible trio crime syndicate which was terrorizing communities in the Hoedspruit area.

During this operation, six suspects aged between 23 and 41 were arrested and found in possession of suspected stolen properties in the Sekororo area. These suspects were connected to a series of house breaking at business premises which were committed in this area.

When the suspects were arrested, a bulk of stolen items were recovered which are as follows :Liquor, Clothing items, Bicycle, Two plasma TV’s, compressor, refrigerator, welding machine, music system, speakers, Two laptops, chain block, chain saw, amplify, three sports lights, drilling machine, two hammers and one tool box.

The process of identifying these items by the complainants is still unfolding.

The suspects will appear before the Hoedspruit Magistrate’s Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed this persistent achievement and encouraged all members involved in these operations to continue ridding this province of any act of criminality.
This achievement will bring a relieve to all the residents of Hoedspruit.

“We therefore urge everybody to rally behind the police as they continue to limit the space for criminals to operate,” concluded General Ledwaba.
