Farm burglaries and theft – 4 Suspects linked to about 20 cases

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers commended the remarkable work by SAPS members, following the arrest of four suspects aged between 20 and 34, on Thursday, 4 May 2023.

The suspect were subsequently linked to about 20 cases of housebreaking and theft that occurred at Tweefontein, Soordoring farms in the Westenburg policing area.

According to information, the farmers in these areas have been experiencing burglaries and theft in their farms and the suspects could not be identified.

This was a serious concern to them and police.

Finally, the police received information about a group of suspects who were allegedly engaged in burglaries within farming communities, in and around Polokwane along N1 road to Makhado and promptly assembled a team of operatives that consists of, Crime Intelligence, Tracking unit, Murder and Robbery to investigate the cases.

Their hard work paid off when they ultimately had a breakthrough when they arrested four suspects in possession of suspected stolen property.

The suspects will soon appear before Polokwane Magistrate Court soon facing charges of possession of suspected stolen goods, housebreaking and theft amongst other cases.

Police investigations still underway.
