Farm attack, workers assaulted and tied up in attempt to lure farmer out, Sussenvale

A farm attack took place on 5 September 2020, at 01:30 and endured until 02:30, in Sussenvale, Nylstroom, in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Five attackers overpowered the farm workers, assaulted them and tied them up. The workers were forced to contact the farmer in an attempt to lure him out.

The farmer Mr.Kirsten phoned for assistance instead of going out and this most probably saved his and his families lives. The attackers then, seeing their plan had failed, fled with cell phones and solar panels.

This modus operandi, of luring farmers or their families out of their home, has been used before by attackers. People are cautioned again, DO NOT go outside, call for assistance.

There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
