Farm attack, man beaten unconscious, tied up, Diepkuil, Thabazimbi

A farm attack took place on the night of 30 April 2021, in Diepkuil, North of Thabazimbi, in the Limpopo province of South Africa. A farm manager responded to his dogs that were barking and went outside to investigate. The power was off at the time. As he opened his door he was hit over the head with a blunt object and lost consciousness.

The man was then tied up. The attackers then gained access to the owners home by breaking a window. They ransacked the home and attempted to break open the safe.

The farm manager regained consciousness and managed to untie himself. He then went to the farm workers home for assistance whilst screaming at the attackers thereby raising the alarm and causing the attackers to flee.

The manager managed to contact the owner from the workers home. The Matlabas farmwatch and Proto team were deployed. The police and emergency services were also notified who responded quickly.

The tracks of the attackers were followed for 8 kilometers where it seems they were collected by a vehicle.

People are reminded not to go outside if they suspect anything, especially if the power is off, but to rather contact local support groups, neighbors and farmwatch groups for assistance.

There were no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
